SOP for Preparation of Sanitizing Solution

OBJECTIVE
To lay down a Procedure for Preparation of Sanitizing Solution.

SCOPE
This SOP's procedure shall apply to the Production Department of Pharmasky Ltd.

RESPONSIBILITY
It is the responsibility of QC Executives to follow the procedure.

PROCEDURE
Preparation of Sanitizing Solution
  • 70% Isopropyl Alcohol in DM water: Take 700ml IPA in a measuring cylinder. Add a sufficient quantity of DM water to make a 1 Liter solution.
  • 2% Savlon solution in DM water: Take 20ml Savlon Solution in a measuring cylinder and make 1.0 liter using DM water.
  • 2% Dettol solution in D M water: Take 20ml Dettol Solution in a measuring cylinder and make 1.0 liter using DM water.
  • 5% Phenol solution in DM water: Heat the bottle containing Phenol in a water bath till it melts. Take 50ml liquified Phenol in a measuring cylinder and make volume up to 1.0 liters by using DM water.
  • 4% v/v Hydrogen Peroxide solution in Distilled water: Take 40 ml Hydrogen Peroxide in a measuring cylinder and add distilled water to make up the volume of 1.0 liters.
  • 2% v/v Benzalkonium Chloride solution in Distilled water: Take 20ml Benzalkonium Chloride in a measuring cylinder and add distilled water to it to make up the volume of 1.0 liters.
  • 2% v/v Glyceraldehyde solution in Distilled water: Take 20ml Glyceraldehyde in a measuring cylinder and add distilled water to make volume 1.0 liters.
Note: All these preparations are prepared in the third airlock.
Precaution
Wear Gloves, masks & Goggles before preparing the sanitizing solution.
