SOP for Operation, Maintenance & Calibration Procedure for Multitech Digital Torque Tester

OBJECTIVE:
To provide guidelines for an operation, maintenance & calibration procedure for Multitech Digital Torque Tester.

SCOPE:
To establish a procedure for operation, maintenance & calibration procedure for Multitech Digital Torque Tester.

RESPONSIBILITY: 
QA Executive.


PROCEDURE:
  • Switch ON the power supply button on the left side, and display PEAK & PRST.
  • Press button E for making PRST reading Zero.
  • Press the button R for making PEAK readings Zero.
  • Both readings must be zero before testing torque.
  • Press button M for selecting units. Always select the desired unit by pressing M and don’t press M after the peak is noted.
  • Rotate knob adjusts such that the bottle can be held easily. There will be some deflection in the display reading while holding the bottle.
  • Press buttons E and R for making PRST and PEAK readings zero.
  • Gently rotate the cap anti-clockwise till it becomes loose or just breaks the tamper ring. A peak reading will display. Note this reading, this is removal torque. Check if it is within the standard range.
  • For testing the next bottle follow 1 to 8. On completion of testing switch off the power.
  • Calibration is done by the following procedure.
  • Press menu hold and switch on Torque Tester. It displays TORQUE, CALIBRATION, then press Enter screen displays TORQUE, CALIBRATION, ZERO.
  • Then press Enter screen displays TORQUE, LOAD and then press Enter screen displays TORQUE, LOAD, 000.00.
  • Hang a load of 1 KG and set torque as follows, press the vertical arrow till you see 000.01, then press the horizontal arrow till you see 000.10.
  • Press the vertical arrow till you see 000.11, press the horizontal arrow till you see 001.10, and press the horizontal arrow till you see 11.00.
  • Then press Enter screen displays TORQUE, CALIBRATION, OK. Then press Enter screen displays TORQUE, RESET and then press Enter.
  • Remove the load of 1 Kg then press E & R to make PRST & PEAK readings zero.
  • Now apply standard Torque by hanging 1 Kg standard weight.
  1. Hanging 1 Kg weight = Torque of 11.0 Kgcm
  2. Hanging 2 Kg weight = Torque of 22.0 Kgcm
