Method of Analysis for Abamectin Content

Chromatographic Conditions:

Column : 250 mm × 4.6 mm, C18, 5 µm 

Flow Rate : 1 mL/minute 

Column Temperature : 30°C 

Detection Wavelength : 245 nm 

Injection Volume : 5 µL 

Mobile Phase: Acetonitrile : water (80:20)

Standard Preparation:

Weigh out accurately 0.06 g of Abamectin reference standard of known purity into a 50 ml

volumetric flask. Dissolve and make up the volume with the methanol. Shake well to homogenize.

Sample Preparation: 

Weigh out accurately equivalent to the sample 0.06 g of Abamectin into a 50 ml volumetric flask. Dissolve and make up the volume with the methanol. Shake well to homogenize.

Procedure: 

Inject standard preparation in five replicates & record the chromatogram. Inject sample preparation in duplicate, and record the chromatogram. Retention Time of Abamectin 8.9min approx.

Calculate the percent of the assay by using the following formula:
