OBJECTIVE
To lay down a procedure for cleaning of induction sealing machine.
SCOPE
This procedure applies to the production department in the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Facilities of XYZ Limited. This procedure covers the cleaning of the induction sealing machine.
RESPONSIBILITY
The concerned operator is responsible for the implementation of the process.
The In-Charge is responsible for the execution and compliance of the procedure.

PROCEDURE
Batch to Batch Change over cleaning
- This procedure has to be followed at the time of:
- Batch-to-batch changeover
- From lower to higher strength
- At the end of the day.
- Switch off the electrical supply.
- Affix the status label “TO BE CLEANED”.
- Ensure the removal of the previous batch, packing components like the containers, caps, labels etc.
- Clean the entire external surface of the machine with a cloth.
- Dry-clean the entire machine with a dry lint-free cloth.
- Affix the status label “CLEANED “.
Product to Product change over cleaning procedure
- This procedure has to be followed at the time of:
- Product-to-product changeover
- From higher to lower strength
- Change in color
- After any major breakdown or preventive maintenance
- After continuous production of 6 days (of the same product)
- Switch off the electrical supply.
- Affix the status label “TO BE CLEANED”.
- Ensure the removal of the previous products, and packing components like containers, caps, labels etc.
- Using cloth de dust the whole equipment surface, adjacent area, and bottom parts of the equipment till free from any residue.
- Wet mop the external surface of equipment with the help of a lint-free cloth moistened with purified water.
- Ensure cleaning of the top and bottom of external surfaces, Induction heating coil and its stand and support, Height adjustment slides, etc.
- Finally, clean the external surface of the machine with a dry lint-free cloth.
- Affix the status label “CLEANED”.
- All the cleaning details shall be entered in the equipment cleaning log.
