SOP for Disposal of Effluent Waste Water

OBJECTIVE 

To lay down a procedure for disposal of effluent waste water. 

SCOPE

This procedure applies for production department in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Facilities.

RESPONSIBILITY 

• The Q.C Chemist is responsible for implementation of the process. 
• The in-Charge is responsible for the execution and compliance of the procedure. 

PROCEDURE 

• All the liquid waste from the department is drained out through washing bay into the ETP. 
• The pH of waste liquid in the ETP is checked and noted daily and Quality Control informed accordingly. 
• Depending on the pH, the quality control advises on how to neutralize the liquid in the ETP tank. 
• This process is carried out accordingly. 
• From here the treated waste is allowed to drain out so as to prevent environmental pollution.
