SOP for Calibration of Micro Controller Melting Point Apparatus

OBJECTIVE:

To provide a procedure for the calibration of micro controller melting point apparatus. 

SCOPE:

Applicable to the micro controller melting point apparatus in the QC Chemistry. 

RESPONSIBILITY:

The task shall be performed by QC Executive. 
It is the responsibility of the Manager QC to ensure that this procedure is followed accordingly. 

PROCEDURE: 

• Set up the instrument as per the standard operating procedure.
• Use the following reference standards to calibrate the instrument, record the observation in the Attachment-I.

          1. Vanillin 

          2. Acetanilide 

          3. Sulphanilamide 

          4. Caffeine

• The melting point of the reference standards should be within the standard range 
• Standard melting point range shall be taken from COA of standard.
• Calibration should be carried out once every six months or after maintenance of instrument
